Air-Tightness Testing
Geohyden offers hassle-free air-tightness testing and verification reporting from single dwellings to large commercial developments.
Air leaks within a building lead to heat and energy loss. Air-tightness testing is a standard method for quantifying the amount of air which is lost through leaks from a building and identifying methods for improvement.
An air-tightness test consists of placing fans over openings within a building (doors, windows etc) and pressurising the building to measure the loss in pressure.
Air-tightness testing is often used to:
- Help reduce energy bills
- Help gain credits for BREEAM or Code for Sustainable Homes
- Compliance with building regulations
- New-build and refurbishment projects
