Gallions Point Waste Recycling Facility
Client: Corbyn Construction
Location: Royal Docks, Newham, London
Project Description
Geohyden was contracted to complete a number of environmental services and documentation in support of the planning application for the Gallions Point Waste Recycling Facility, with ongoing environmental monitoring.
The purpose of this project is to receive waste excavated material from development sites within the London Borough of Newham and process it to produce graded aggregates for use in construction. This not only diverts waste from landfill but also provides a source of aggregates that helps other developments to gain environmental credits for assessments.
The site is within close proximity to London City Airport and a the Royal Docks waters; a ‘Site of Importance for Nature Conservation’. Geohyden outlined numerous mitigation and control measures to prevent both aviation interference and water pollution.
