Stakeholder Engagement
Construction and development projects can have intricate and far reaching impacts across a broad range of people, businesses and environmental receptors. Gaining stakeholder insight is now a key stage in understanding these effects and the resultant success of any project.
If completed properly, stakeholder engagement can help ease the path of realising project proposals successfully; on time and within budget. If not, a project can become staggered, delayed and potentially denied.
It is therefore crucial to ensure that stakeholder engagement is carried out effectively throughout a project’s life-cycle by qualified persons with the knowledge and experience required to address the range of issues and concerns that arise.
What we do
Our stakeholder engagement strategies are individually tailored to each project depending on the nature and scope of potential impacts and receptors.
The key first step for any stakeholder engagement strategy is anticipation. With our extensive experience of construction management and environmental consultancy, we can accurately identify potential receptors and how they are likely to be affected. This allows us to remain one step ahead of potential issues and concerns, thus helping to expedite project proposals properly and efficiently.
Depending on the nature of a project and the potential receptors we will use a selection of engagement methods including:
- Online surveys
- Postal surveys
- Telephone interviews
- One on one meetings
- Public inquiry hosting
- Regulatory authority meetings and mandatory stakeholder briefings
Once consultation is completed, we compile and organise the findings in an easy to understand report, prioritising issues based upon the level of concern and the vulnerability of receptors to be addressed throughout the ongoing planning and design process. Where necessary, we will outline options for addressing issues and concerns and carry out further engagement to gain stakeholder approval.
Upon completion of each stakeholder engagement stage, we provide the necessary documentation and liaise with regulatory authorities concerning the findings and applicable ongoing measures.
