Asbestos Surveys
In accordance with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (Reg 4), duty holders of commercial premises have a specific responsibility to ensure that asbestos onsite is identified and managed properly. UK regulations outline two types of asbestos surveys, detailed below.

Asbestos Management Survey
(Formerly Type 1 & 2 Surveys)
These surveys are required where there is no foreseeable need for demolition or refurbishment but where small works may still be conducted. It is a non-
Asbestos Refurbishment and Demolition Survey
(Formerly Type 3 Survey)
These surveys are required when a property (or part thereof) is to be refurbished or demolished. A comprehensive sampling schedule is undertaken to identify asbestos types and quantities within the property. This is to ensure the safety of onsite personnel or others involved. This type of survey is particularly useful for tendering works for the removal of Asbestos Containing Material.
