Flood Risk Assessment
Flooding is becoming an ever-prevalent issue within the UK with mitigations being essential from the start of many projects to avoid unnecessary issues later in the project’s lifecycle. Flood risk assessments provide the expert insight required to ensure both legal compliance and that flood risk is managed and properly controlled from the outset.
Who needs a flood risk assessment?
Flood risk assessments are required to accompany planning applications for developments of 1 hectare or more within flood zone 1 (low probability) and all developments within flood zones 2 (medium probability) and 3 (high probability). A flood risk assessment and design strategy is also required for many BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments.
What we do
Through both desk studies (phase I) and site investigations (phase II), we provide a thorough and contextualised assessment of flood risk for our clients’ projects.
Throughout every stage of the planning process and construction phase, we provide expert guidance on legal obligations and tailored flood resilient designs for each project. Our collaborative approach, working with developers, architects, contractors and regulatory bodies, means that our results and strategies are effectively communicated and understood by all parties involved.
Our flood risk assessment services include:
- Code for Sustainable Homes: SUR2 (Flood Risk) reports.
- BREEAM: POL-03 (Surface water run off) reports
